Exquisite Trouble (Iron Horse MC, #1)

Exquisite Trouble (Iron Horse MC, #1)
By Ann Mayburn

SUMMARY
Before I met Smoke I'd never been kissed, really kissed, by a man, let alone a biker sex god bent on taking my virginity and my heart.

I got dragged into the deadly world of the Iron Horse MC by my crazy twin sister who is engaged to the club's President and even crazier mom who only cares about herself. Smoke has been assigned by the club to keep me safe even though he's everything that I should be afraid of. He's the kind of man who lives by his own rules and does whatever he wants whenever he wants, but he treats me like I'm something rare and precious, not a socially dysfunctional basket case who has no idea how to love, but needs him more than her next breath.

Not that my feelings matter, because if we don't find my mother soon, the only thing I'll have to be worried about is who is going to kill me first.

REVIEW

Meh, not sure how I feel about this. It felt like it had more sex then anything else. I get upset when the female lead has valid points to be upset or get some separation from the male lead and he just sexs her up and she forgets and forgives everything. That just makes her entirely weak and I don't have any respect for her at all. I got to the point there was soon much sex I skipped hoping to get a story in there some where. I just felt he disrespected her in so many ways I got to the point where I really didn't like him at all.

What an F-ed up family she belongs to and what a weak reason to abuse her the way they did. WEAK! I am also confused how this is the first book, but the others are already published. The book started off great thus the 3 stars instead of two, but then YUK. Then the author just had to randomly put in D/s stuff that just didn't fit in so she can keep up with the fad of having it in a book now a days. And then the autistic crap...REALLY!? Ok just not buying it. Why not hit all the buzz topics!?

I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. Glad I did because I would have felt like crap if I bought it

My Tempting Highlander

Review copy provided via NetGallery in exchange for an honest review

Summary

Cursed to live forever with neither wife nor child, Ronan Sutherland has watched all he cherishes turn to dust—more than once. For hundreds of years, he's been trapped behind the mists of Loch Ness, hoping to identify the one woman who is prophesied to break the spell. Now, at last, the fates have aligned, and he's being sent into the future to fetch her. After a single glimpse, Ronan knows he's been waiting all his life for this passionate woman.

Unlike her time-traveling sisters, Mairi Sinclair is perfectly content to remain in the present. As a hospital nurse in Edinburgh, she cherishes the opportunity to put her gift of healing powers to good use. But everything changes the morning a mysterious wolf darts in front of her car. Touching the wounded creature's tawny coat, a tingle surges through her. Yet when she returns with aid, Mairi is shocked to find instead a man with broad shoulders and fire in his eyes—a man who tempts her to unleash the animal within.

Review:

Very interesting take, on a shifter; Ronan is a hot sexy highlander, who was cursed to live as a wolf and only the one who is prophesied can break the cures. Add in time warp and you have yourself a complete and compelling story.  Since this copy is a pre copy, I cant go into my normal stuff about grammatical errors.  The flow is seamless, the plot complex; the development of the characters is perfect.

Review:

This is a fun and fast pace novella, you laugh, you cry, and get mad at how stupid two people can be. You’re cheering in the end.  Not much more can be said other than the development of the plot and characters is perfect. You dont run into errors, which is a plus when reading.

Lion Eyes : shifters unbound 7.25

Summary:

Bree has just decided to give up trying to be a Shifter groupie when a lion Shifter slams into her truck and tells her to drive. Seamus is on the run from hunters, other Shifters, and who knows who else. All Bree knows is that he’s compelling, needs her help, and most intriguing of all, wears no Collar …

Seamus McGuire fears he’s gone crazy—feral—and become a killer. His only hope of getting away from the hunters and police on his tail is Bree, a human woman who not only knows a lot about Shifters but has great compassion for them.

Things are more complicated than they seem, however. Seamus is on a mission, to protect those in his care after the destruction of Kendrick’s compound of un-Collared Shifters. Seamus must keep it together and keep his charges hidden, but at the same time, he’s pulled to Bree as he’s never been pulled to a woman before. He needs to prove he’s innocent and not crazy before it’s too late for himself, Bree, and those he’s vowed to protect.

Review:

This Novella is the best in this series yet. From the second, you open the book to the last you are intrigued with both Bree and Seamus and can feel the heat and pull between the two. I have to say Miss Ashley, is impressing me as each book the writing is stronger and the plot line has so many twists you don’t have any clue on how it’s going to end until you’ve finished the book. I’ve noticed other authors seem to stick to one basic plot, but not Miss Ashley each book in this series has its own unique plot line, which to me makes it much more enjoyable than sticking to the same plots.

The development of the story line and characters is complex. The characters feel so real you forget your reading a book. The editing is top notch as you find no errors, which to me take away from the readability of book.

Conclusion:

Would you recommend this book to others? YES

Would you read other books written by this Author? YES

Is this book a Novel or Novella? Novella

Is this book priced correctly? The Ebook is priced correctly, but for people on a budget like myself I’d never pay $8.99 for a novella in paperback form….

Zeke (Breaking the Declan Brothers, #3)

Zeke (Breaking the Declan Brothers, #3)
By Kelly Gendron

SUMMARY
“Some guys call, some date, and some guys, they might even get married. But, sweetheart, I ain’t any of those guys...” ~ Zeke Declan

Every girl in Galveston County knows about Zeke Declan’s rules and has agreed to them or is considering them.
Rule #1 Don’t call him. He’ll call you.
Rule #2 He doesn’t date.
Rule #3 No sleepovers.
Rule #4 Absolutely, no virgins.

When a couple friends talk me into going back to their hometown in the Bayou for the summer and challenge me to break “the best damn lay in Galveston County” along with every single one of his ridiculous rules, I’m confident that I can get the job done. I’m no stranger to men. I have five older brothers. I’m a teacher and I’m used to being around rebellious teenagers. However, Zeke Declan is definitely not someone that I could have prepared for. He’s not a testosterone-fueled, immature boy. He’s a confident, arousing, playful, and mind-melting man. But, behind that sexy charming smile, I know he’s hiding a secret. And, in order to break him, I’m going to need to find out what it is..

REVIEW
This is a good book. I really enjoyed it and it was a great finish to the Declan brothers. I was a tad shocked about the ending...I mean it turned out like I thought but not really. I don't want to give away the end so I can't explain.

If you wanted the hot sex the other stories had it really isn't there. It is more story then that. There is a great deal of hurt and tragedy in this book. I would have given it five stars, but the guilt and the trauma does not go away with one telling of the story. Zeke needs so serious therapy and he has to let his brothers know. I wish the author would have gotten into all of those issues, but she didn't. I think it would have been a better story and her book could help others to show you can overcome. The author touched on drug abuse in the last book and I think she should have addressed this issue too.

It was a touching book. Good read, but could have been great.
