Indigo Nights

Indigo Nights
By Louise Bay

SUMMARY
The only thing better than cake is cake with a side of orgasms.

Dylan James has no expectations when it comes to relationships. He uses women for sex and they use him for his money and power. It’s quid pro quo and he's good with that. It works.

Beth Harrison has been burned. She's tired of the lies and the game playing that men bring and has buried herself in her passion—baking which keeps her out of the reach of heartbreak. As she begins her career as a TV baker, a new world opens up to her.

Dylan and Beth both know that casual sex is all about giving what you need to get what you want.

Except that sometimes you give more than you need to and get everything you ever wanted.

REVIEW
Great freaking book! I loved it! Wow! I haven't read this author before, but I am glad I picked this one! I want to read more from her now!

Everything was good and I don't know where to start. Dylan was a charming, sexy, good looking, sweet, kind hearted sex god. He really doesn't start out that much of a jerk like most boy meets girl. I thought he was sweet and he sure wanted her to feel good. He really cared for Beth right from the start. He was upfront and honest about everything. I like his determination to stay away from his ex too. He was upfront about everything but one thing...it bites him. I loved him from the start and I liked that I didn't have to not like myself for it because he wasn't a douche at first!

Beth, what a strong woman. She has overcome a great deal and is going strong. Being a recovering alcoholic and staying sober is a very difficult thing to do. She did it and finally got comfortable in her own shoes! I like that the new Beth knew what she wants and is secure in her sexuality. I admire her in so many ways. She did have her short comings in that she didn't trust her gut feelings and wanted to abandon ship at times. I am glad she had good friends that put her right! I loved Beth!

Wonderful wonderful story! Go read it!!

Icing (Aces Hockey, #2)

Icing (Aces Hockey, #2)
By Kelly Jamieson

SUMMARY
Duncan Armstrong may be an NHL star, but he’s a country boy at heart. His ultimate fantasy is going home with the Stanley Cup, not a gold-digging airhead who aspires to be a trophy wife and nothing more. Newly single and hoping to enjoy a night out with his teammates, he ends up hitting it off with a down-to-earth waitress who’s a complete breath of fresh air—until Duncan learns that she’s a part-time model. He tries to forget about her, but their sizzling chemistry has him coming back for more.

Amber is working hard to put herself through school, and has zero interest in dating a professional athlete. She’s seen firsthand how fame and fortune can mess with their heads—her father’s brilliant football career ended in a firestorm of addiction and infidelity. So Duncan’s attentions immediately have her on the defensive. Still, there’s something different about him. And once she stops trying to freeze him out, irresistible temptation turns into all-consuming passion.

REVIEW
It was a decent read. We had instant attraction and love in this book, so if you don't like that this isn't for you. You kinda gotta like hockey too.

Where to start....Duncan. Well he was a hot hockey player with apparently no luck with women. They all just used him for his money. For a star athlete he sure had hang ups about himself and if he was good at sex. It was surprising that the author actually wrote him like that, but refreshing at the same time. He was hot and sweet. He just wanted to help and I can see how people took advantage.

Amber well actually she kinda made me upset. She suffered from Bella Swan syndrome...don't buy me anything I can handle everything myself and don't buy me anything. Yuk, it gets old and she sounds ungrateful and bitchy and you just want to smash her face in cause she is really hurting the sweet sexy guy that really loves her. DUH! I did like that Duncan would call her on it but he was way too nice. Amber had family issues..crazy ones, but still didn't give her the right to act like that.

It was a sweet story and of course the predictable curveball happens and all heck breaks loose. If you can deal with all that you will like it. You can read it without reading the first one. Enjoy!

Never Sweeter (Dark Obession, #2)

Never Sweeter (Dark Obession, #2)
By Charlotte Stein

SUMMARY

Letty Carmichael can’t believe her eyes when she catches a glimpse of her high school tormenter, wrestling champ Tate Sullivan, on campus. College was supposed to be her escape from Tate’s constant ridicule. Now he’s in her classes again, just waiting for his chance to make her life hell. But when Letty and Tate are partnered up for an assignment—on sex in cinema, of all things—she starts to see a kinder, gentler side of him. And when she realizes Tate knows more about sex than she could ever guess at, he soon starts making her blush in a whole new way.

Tate Sullivan is haunted by regret over his cruelty toward Letty. So when she agrees to work with him, he seizes his chance to make amends. He can’t blame her for not believing he’s for real, but soon Tate starts to break down her wall. She wants to know about passion, desire, lust—topics he is well versed in. And in return she offers the one thing he always wanted: the chance to be more than just a jock.

Letty is shocked by how sensitive Tate can be. Still, desiring him feels ludicrous. Loving him is impossible. Craving him is beyond all reason. So why can’t she stop?

REVIEW
I am stuck between 31/2 stars and 4 stars. I liked the story, then I didn't then I went back to liking it. This should never be described a "dark" story and I really never felt he was obsessed with her in a strange way, so I think that description is a tad misleading. If he was obessed with her it was to make amends and give her what he felt he stole from her. That isn't dark that is beautiful in its own right.

I had a hard time with Letty forgiving him so quickly. She forgave and in the human sense she never forgot because her actions throughout were based on the past and who could blame her. I didn't like that the reason for bullying was just to be cool there seemed no valid reason for them to bully her. I can't believe they took it that far and had no consequences for their actions.

Letty in her own right was very damaged and it hurt to read how she felt and reacted to things all based on the bullying. It is terrible that bullying can affect someone that way and it just proved to me how terrible it really is with no winners just losers.

Tate was an interesting guy. I like his progression from total as$ to a really deep smart affectionate guy that had his own hang ups to deal with too. Letty had shot his confidence down with her retorts to his bullying and it is interesting to see how his brain worked that out. You never step into the "bullyers" shoes. (sorry don't even know if that is a word and if it is spelled right) Letty thought he had the perfect life and the perfect everything and it was so not the case. He was genuinely sorry and wanted to make amends and you could really feel that from him. He wasn't fake and damn was he HOT!!!

The chemistry and eventual hotness between them was HOT ! I mean like way HOT!! It got to the point where that was all there was for a period of time and I wondered where the storyline went because all it was one long scene. The author glossed over some of the secondary plot when I think it deserved a little more info. The forgiving part was covered well and very emotional.

It was a good read yet had some bumps in it overall. I couldn't put it down and was waiting for the other shoe to drop. I am not giving away that part....
You do not need to read the first book this is a standalone story.

Enjoy!

Summary:

When her marriage transitions from blushing newlyweds to people who merely co-exist, Austen realizes perhaps she's responsible for her misery.

Desiring change, she leaves Oregon for the open plains of a Wyoming ranch where she discovers through love of self how she can save her marriage.

Review:

The story line is a complex and complete; the development of the characters is wonderfully done. I really enjoyed the story, for the most part, but there are a few spots where the sentences just didn’t flow correctly, and I had to stop and reread the sentences to try to make sense of them, which to make takes away from the over all flow of the story as a whole.

Conclusion:

Would you recommend this book to others? YES

Would you read other books by this author? YES

Is this book a novel or novella? Novel

Is this book priced correctly? YES

Possession (Sons of Odin MC, #2)

Possession (Sons of Odin MC, #2)
By Violetta Rand

SUMMARY
Ambitious young attorney Tina Bethel doesn’t have time for commitment, but she wouldn’t pass up some hot, no-strings sex with the right guy—like Sons of Odin officer Vincent Ramos. Six feet, five inches of solid muscle and biker masculinity, he revs Tina up like no man ever has. The trouble is, every time they get physical, Tina’s cravings are never quenched—because Vincent always pumps the brakes before the point of no return.

With her sexy body packaged in a short skirt, Tina’s enough to drive any man crazy. Vincent isn’t sure how he’s resisted her shameless come-ons. He just knows that if he gives in, he won’t be able to stop—and after two failed marriages, he can’t afford any more broken promises. But when a disgruntled client of Tina’s starts stalking her, Vincent has to make up his mind about his true feelings—fast. Because if he’s willing to put his body in the line of fire, he should be able to risk his heart in the name of love.

REVIEW
Another kick butt book from Ms. Rand! I loved it from start to finish. It had everything bad boy, tough girl, hot sex, drama, and love!

I loved Vincent! He truly evolved into the man the reader could see in him. It took him a minute or two, but he did. He is super hot in looks and his big heart. When he loves he loves... As he said "live hard, die hard, and finally love hard." He definitely does that. He has had some hard times and was able to take that and turn it into something special with Tina. He is a darn good lover too! Shower inducing scenes, be prepared!

I loved Tina too. She is an independent strong woman! She isn't wishy washy or drama filled. It was refreshing to read a female lead like her. Tina didn't hide from her feelings to hard and she fought for what she wanted...Vincent! I liked her real thoughts about introducing Vincent to her family. She never thought she was better than him and loves him for the man he is.

Great great read! I really really loved it! I can't wait to read the next installment of the Sons of Odin!

His touch inflames me.

I gave him my body and my heart.

The lies began with our hello.
Now, I’m captured by them.

Skull:
There’s an animal in me that I keep hidden.
Beth calls to him. She tempts the monster and lures him to the surface.
I’m obsessed with her. I can’t stay away, even when doing so puts my entire club in danger.
Her blood is on my hands.
I formed her to fit only me.
I was her first and if I have to kill everyone in our way. So be it.
I will be her last.
She is mine.

REVIEW
I am indecisive about my star rating 31/2 or 4, not quite sure.

This book is hot lots of chemistry between the characters. Hot hot dirty mouth sex! The story line is good too, but I get ticked off when the main characters say they love each other and they won't keep secrets from each other....then BAM they do. Because of this they spend and will be spending all this miserable time away with broken hearts and guilt. I know it is drama for a reason, but I hate it when it is the characters dumb faults for it! Thus the star rating difficulty.

Skull is an interesting guy. Dirty mouth sex god president of an MC. He wants what he wants end of story. No compromise. He usually gets it, but the results aren't always good.

Beth...oh Beth what can one say about you...You are a DUMB AS$!!!!!!! You don't talk when you should and talk when you shouldn't! She is infuriating!!!!! I can SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to see what is going to happen next even through my frustration. The books are only .99 so it is a good deal and helps calm the anger.

Dang I am such a drama queen diva about my books. But I guess the strong emotions means the writer sure knows how to write!

REVIEW
Review to come. It's 2 am and I am going to sleep

Ok I am awake enough to write my review! As you can see I stayed up half the night to finish! I couldn't put it down. Very interesting read! The two characters have instant attraction and nothing like a female lead that takes what she wants. I really like this style because women are always considered sluts if they want sex and take it. Not the case needs are for everyone and we should be called studs just like men are who take what they want. Ok off soap box.

I liked Zag. He was very well developed and we got a great shot of his terrible childhood and why he is who he is. I also liked how he reached out to others to help them along as others helped him. He was a great lover. He did have faults, because he really couldn't deal with his feelings for Jessica at times. Other times he was too far into his head. He wasn't a "young" guy which made him more mature with his actions.

Jessica grew on me. She never gave off that I am better then you vibe, which the heroine sometimes has in these MC books. She was a tad flim-flammy about standing up for herself at first, but Zag brought out the best in her. Jessica always seemed to accept Zag, even when she was scared and if she overreacted she pulled back and adjusted. She always stood up for Zag. I thought her family's reactions were kinda not normal at the end, but it just showed how Jess reflected how she was raised.

No real hardcore MC stuff, so if you are looking for that it is not there. The family aspect and the we protect what is ours is there. There are no trashy females trying to sleep with the hero and thank goodness no cat fighting and cheating. Just a good all around book. I enjoyed it and hope you do too. I want to read the next one for sure!
