At The Brink

At The Brink
By Anna del Mar

SUMMARY

Lily:

I should never have agreed to it.

A woman will do a lot to keep her husband happy. But when my husband sells me to the highest bidder—billionaire, former navy SEAL, pride of Boston's business scene—I agree, not to keep him happy, but because it gives me the chance to finally escape. Escape my marriage, escape my debts, escape my life…

Josh Lane demands a steep price: my pride and my morals. But the truth is, I've never felt anything like what I feel for him. He brings color into my gray world. And his insistence that I submit to his commands—his depraved, filthy, amazing commands—only feeds my craving to be taken by him. Again. And again.

I should never have agreed to it, but I'm so glad I did.

Josh:

I don't need to pay to keep women in my bed. Though my preferences may be unorthodox, I never leave a woman unsatisfied—far from it. Lily Boswell, though… Her innocence draws me, her secrets intrigue me. Having her is worth dealing with her cowardly scum of a husband.

I want to release her passions and heal her wounds.

On my terms.

Because the blindfolds and restraints hide more than she could imagine. I must keep her safe from the people who would destroy me—and the demons that haunt my dreams

REVIEW
What a gripping powerful story! It starts out very scandalous and and some parts outrageous but turns into a heart wrenching romance with a back story that explains it all.

Lily starts out as a scared little rabbit that is so unsure of herself. She suffers from panic attacks but then has the guts to stand up for herself. She definitely knows how to scarfice to get what she wants freedom and security. Lily grows into a beautiful strong woman as the story goes on and fights for what she wants, I didn't want to strangle her and she didn't make those dumb heroine decisions where you want to pull out your hair and scream "You dumb ass!!!!" I like that she speaks her mind to Josh and let's him have it when he deserves it! I love her progression throughout the story!

Josh is a very in control man and I mean he has total control. You will want to throttle him at times because he is so arrogant and conrolling, He at times was over the top, but he fits the very high IQ person that has no common sense or emotional sense. He has his reasons to act and it is hard to see the reasons. I never figured out his secret and for once I was surprised with the big reveal. He is sexy as hell and kinky too. Total male whore before he meets her, but totally rock steady after. He is a damaged hero, but once the reveal is opened you understand him and just love him even more.

The sex is kinky and fun nothing over the top. When he has her paint herself it is really hot! The sex isn't the whole story and just the right amount of ummm. The two have so much hotness between them! I think I need a shower!

Great emotional read loved it couldn't put it down even read some at work...but don't tell. First book from this author and I will check our more from her.

Received an ARC from the publisher for a honest review.

Admiral

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Summary:

“I was on a dead ship on an unknown planet with three trainees freshly graduated into the Imperial Service. I tried to look on the bright side.”

He is the last to wake. The label on his sleeper pad identifies him as an admiral of the Evagardian Empire—a surprise as much to him as to the three recent recruits now under his command. He wears no uniform, and he is ignorant of military protocol, but the ship’s records confirm he is their superior officer.

Whether he is an Evagardian admiral or a spy will be of little consequence if the crew members all end up dead. They are marooned on a strange world, their ship’s systems are failing one by one—and they are not alone.

Review:

First I’ll start out by saying I stepped out of my comfort zone of books to read this one.  I love this type of movie, but have never been much into this type of book, but WOW!!  This book is defiantly a four point five star read. The only thing that stops it from being a five star read is that it’s part of a series and in my experience there is always at least one book in the series that don’t live up to what it should be.
This book is written in first person and is one of the best jobs I’ve read in a long time. The story line captures you from the very first paragraph, it drags you in so you can’t stop reading until the book ends, then it leaves you wanting more and you can’t wait for the next book in the series to come out.
As you read this story you see this in your head.  I feel this would be a box office hit. The story line is complex and the characters are also complex and very believable. The book is very well edited as I didn’t find any grammatical errors, this make stories hard to read. The conversations help to make the store more believable….

Conclusion:

Would I recommend this book to others? YES

Would I read other books written by this Author? YES

Is this book a Novel or Novella? Novel

Is this book priced correctly? That is the hard question to answer for I’m a budget buyer and I never spend more than six dollars on a ebook and as for the hardback copy if I plan my budget right I can afford the rest of the books in this seires, as I felt that it’s worth the price.

Wanted: County Knights MC

Wanted: County Knights MC
By Ellen Harper

SUMMARY
I’M EVERYTHING SHE NEVER WANTED.
Growing up, I had a soft spot for Anna Nielsen. When her old man laid a hand on her, I did what I had to do and put an end to him. It cost me my freedom.

After I got out of jail, I decided to leave the hard life behind me. Nothing dangerous, nothing illegal, just my car shop and my sanity.

But when Anna comes crashing back into my life, she brings with her everything I’m trying to avoid. Before I know it, I’m balls deep in drugs, hitmen, and my old MC.

I didn’t ask for any of this. I certainly didn’t want it. But when I find out that Anna’s been lying to me, there’s only one thing I truly want to do:

Punish her, like only I know how.

REVIEW

I really liked the story until our lovely hero decided to spank the lead lady for withholding information and getting lippy... ok when you aren't telling the truth either and acting like a neanderthal and not is a good way... up yours and a few other choice words I won't utter here!!! I don't get off on domestic discipline... ain't no one spanking my ass just because you felt I did something wrong... Hell to the NO!!! That just turned me off to the whole book after that. I am up for Dominant guys in bed but hey don't you try that outside of the bed... I am sooooo not into that. YUK!

After that incident I really started not liking Anna. She really made some dumb decisions and after I though about it she acting like a child and needed more spanking!! She just was so weak and just waiting to be rescued but wanted to talk like she was all that. YUK! Then she sat there and rationalized why it was ok that he spanked her and she deserved it... REALLY!!! Banging my head on my iPad.

Jackson he was just a dominant jerk and not in a good way. I hate when a man just wants his woman to follow him around and do what he says... ok get out of the dark ages and get a life. He made decisions without talking to Anna and then when she made a bad one because she didn't have all the information he punished her. He would also punish her for the stuff he was doing himself. Hypocrites there is nothing I hate more in life and in stories.

I like the story line and the action. Not much MC action until the end.

MEH! if you are into all that stuff mentioned you will love it.. me not so much.

Crow ( Boston Underworld, #1)

Crow (Boston Underworld, #1)
By A. Zavarelli

SUMMARY
An Irish mobster. A missing friend. Two loyalties, ripping me apart.

I had a plan.

Get in, get my information, and get out. Easy, right?

Turns out, infiltrating the Irish mafia isn’t exactly what I thought it would be. I just wanted a soldier. Someone I could flirt with to get me in the door.

That’s when Lachlan Crow noticed me. Problem was, he wasn’t a soldier. No, he was next in line for the throne of the Irish underworld. And he was determined to hate me from the outset. My sob story about needing a job? Yeah, he wasn’t buying that either.

Too bad for him, I won’t let anyone get in the way of my mission.

Who cares if we have some kind of crazy chemistry? He’s the worst kind of wrong- and I would never in a million years be with a guy like him.

Because they took her from me, and I’m going to make them pay.

REVIEW
Interesting read....lots of twists a turns. I am not really sure how it ended like it did since there were so many twists. I truly didn't think it would end up that way. I kinda picked the bad guys, but I wasn't all the way right and I never would have picked the motivation.

Mackenzie is something else and she fights and plays hard. She has been through a great deal and doesn't trust easy. She steps in with no sense of what could happen, she puts her full face in the wind and goes for it! I can't believe she didn't get on my nerves and I didn't hate her. Very cool heroine!

Lachlan, damn he is sexy as hell. Love his accent and his strength. He had me guessing all the way through. I never really knew where he stood till the end. The author kept him under wraps very well. He was very possessive because he was burned so meant times. I am still astonished what he did for her at the end. You might think he is a jerk, but the writer for once didn't make us hate him, I sometimes hate when the writer takes the hero past the point of no return and you hate that you still like him. Not the case here! YEAH!

The sex was hot and steamy. I think they did it just about everywhere! LOL!

The supporting cast was interesting and I hope we are set up for some more stories. Ronan I hope is next! He and his brooding suit wearing self. Scarlett seems like a good heroine and deserves some happiness!.

Great gritty read!

Property of Drex #2 ( Death Chasers, MC, #2)

Property of Drex #2 ( Death Chasers, MC, #2)
By CM Owens

SUMMARY
What’s the most selfless thing you’ve ever done? What price tag would you put on the ability to save the ones you love?

They say the worst decisions are made by the desperate or the fools. I was desperate enough to make a foolish decision to save my family. The cost? Me.

They may be a motorcycle club, but in all honesty they’re really an elite unit of criminals who just happen to drive motorcycles. They’re a business. An organization. A fully functioning army…

What I’ve learned? They work in the gray area; life and death is real; and everyone wants everyone dead. Okay, so maybe that’s dramatic… No. No it’s not. It’s legit.

I prepared for the worst, fully anticipating hating my new life. Turns out, I finally found out where I belonged. Oh, and I discovered I’m a little twisted or crazy. Maybe both.

Drex Caine, the man without a conscience, didn’t ruin me the way I thought he would. Instead, he made me feel like I was living instead of just waiting to live. And I can never go back to the way things used to be.

REVIEW
The nonstop action ride continues. Drex sure has strange ideas about Eve in this one. Another alpha male making choices for the damsel in distress without consulting her. They are so stupid to underestimate their damsel in distress! Eve has grown some in this book and she isn't going to take his crap! I am glad she stepped up for herself, made her a better character. Eve goes through some bad stuff, but not too bad and she shows how tough she really is!

Again a ton a foot going on, lots of twists and turns. Lots of Family drama between Herrin and Drex. The side characters are interesting and I can't wait to read about them. Axle, Dash, and Snake are going to be tasty! I so hope we get Sarah and Snake's(Jude) story.

The sex is steamy as hell and this time we have hot sex at the shooting range!

Drex does get a tad annoying with his hot/cold behavior and I can see why Eve gets pissed off. The end was a tad rushed and there are still a ton of unanswered questions, which is good I guess that means more fodder for the next stories!

Great read!
