Denying Ecstasy (The Guardians of the Realms #3)

Denying Ecstasy (The Guardians of the Realms #3)
By Setta Jay

SUMMARY:

A headstrong sassy mortal, Rain is a Mageia living in Tetartos, the Realm of beasts and Immortals. Her nights have been restless, filled with sensual dreams of a big blonde Guardian whose glares indicate he wants nothing to do with her. She is determined to shake off the odd feelings until she finds out her dream lover is responsible for her rescue from a demented Demi-God. In doing so, his touch ignites something rare and coveted. Something that she’s never anticipated… Something he should have told her about. Rain is set on making him explain and then feel the full force of her ire.

After a devastating betrayal resulting in the loss of a close friend a century ago, Dorian refuses to trust or engage with Immortals other than his Guardian family. His years of brutal fighting in the underground Immortal rings are over. He patrols the Realms and slakes his lust with the humans on Earth. Existing, but not living as he used to. He knows the moment he scents Rain that he has found his mate and after touching her he plans to avoid her as long as he can... Until he learns she is in danger. Raging, his beast demands that he go to her, but taking her from their enemy has repercussions he fully plans to escape at all costs.

For Dorian, finding a way out of mating Rain means he could succumb to madness and harm those that mean so much to him… but giving in to his burning urge for her means losing control in a heated mating frenzy sure to ignite them both and link them forever.

Warning: brief instances of M/F/F and M/F/M menage, a hot headed, dirty talking alpha male,

voyeurism and sexually explicit scenes.

REVIEW
Received a copy from NetGalley for an honest review.

Wow, another hot and steamy book! I think a cold shower is needed. I was shocked that we had a guardian that didn't want a mate. He boarder on being a really big jerk! At least Dorian got his act together! I loved Rain, she was everything a heroine could be: strong, independent,t and not afraid to tell her man a thing or two! She wasn't a flakey wishy washy heroine that seems to be populat these days, thank god! Again the author gives you everything to feed your fantasies with way hot M/F and a really hot M/F\M. The scenes are never boring and the dirty talk is just icing on the cake. The story behind the story was interesting too. I wonder what is going to happen to them. Brianne seems to want break it all up and stay alone. I am glad Vane is fighting back!

The series is staying at a wonderfully high level and just keeps sucking me in! I love the author's world and want to keep visiting!

But the Dragon Heads aren't what they think, and the world has not encountered their like in generations!
Think Smaug was fierce? You ain't seen nothing!

Review:

Wow, Andy brings together two of the great writers Tolkien and Martin. Like Tolkien and Martin, you are put right in the story like you are watching a movie, yet you feel the emotions as if they were your own. I love it when an author can make you see and feel. I now have a favorite analogy Minutes flowed into hours, and time slipped by like a water snake through lilies. The flow of the story plot was perfect; the Characters are complex, yet believable. I didnt see any grammatical or punctuation errors, which tells me the writer and the editors took their time to make sure this is a finished product and not something that was rushed just to get it out there for the public to read like so many of the books today.

I so look forward to reading the rest of this series as they are released. Like with Martin and Tolkien, you dont become just one of the characters, but a bit of each of them.  Tolkien was my favorite author from age 12 up until a few years ago when I was introduced to Martin, and now Andy has me sitting one the edge of my seat waiting for the next book to come out.

Conclusion:

Would I recommend this book to others? YES

Would I read more books from this Author? YES

This is a full-length novel I cant say if its over priced or not since I received this advance copy for my review, but any book of this caliber is priceless, and Id buy no matter the cost.  I might have to save since I have a monthly budget for my books.  I spend most of my days reading and writing as I dream of becoming an Author like all those I read.

REVIEW:

The second book is just as good! This was a great continuation of the series. The heroine was very real and you could relate to her struggles to feel worthy. She wasn't just a plastic Barbie that was perfect. Alyssa just wanted to be loved and respected and her family played mind games with her, how true is that for a great deal of women. I liked Gregoire and I am glad he opened up and let her in to show how he really felt. He too was flawed, but he was so "human". The story had a little of everything: hot, very hot M/F interaction, voyeurism, and a small orgy! The villains are truly villains and the way they are written you really grow to hate them. I am wondering where the plot is going to go since one bad guy finally got what was coming to him. Wonderfully hot read!

REVIEW

This book had it all! Alpha males, strong heroines, great plot, special powers, myths, legends, supernatural, the love, romance, frienship, hot M/F interaction, voyeurism, and a very steamy manège! It did start slow and that was just to set the scenes for the series and that was understandable, but once it started it never stopped! This was a great start and the Gaurdians are a team I want to belong to! The author, described things well and you felt like you could reach out and be in her world. She kept the hero and heroine real, with actually strengths and weakness that the reader could relate to, no one was perfect and quite human even though they weren't! Great great read!

Laird Wolf

Review copy provided via NetGallery in exchange for an honest review

Summary:
He’s a wolf in a kilt. That pretty much says it all…

Pulling off a rescue mission at a remote castle in Scotland should be an easy task for lone wolf Damon Black. He’ll flash some muscle, show a little Alpha power, and do whatever it takes to ease Addie MacShay’s fears. But the woman who throws herself into his arms and cries boyfriend is more intriguing than anticipated. The sexy she-wolf’s got more curves, more tantalizing scent, more of everything he desires.

Addie’s job cataloguing an estate at the Sterling-Wylde Manor is complicated by the ongoing discovery of new wills and the two creepy heirs who won’t leave her alone. But her fake boyfriend turns out to be a far greater threat—not only is he fun and flirtatious, he looks delicious in a kilt. She craves his touch, but with her empathic skills on overdrive, touch is the last thing she needs.

Damon’s fighting his unruly inner beast. Addie’s fighting their incredible sexual pull. They’ll both have to lower their guard to make this more than a Highland fling.

Review:

This was a fun novella, Reading Copper King you get introduced to Damon, but learn a little bit about Addie. I took me just a few hours to read this as I couldn’t stop.  I just had to find out when these two would realize they were meant to be together.  From the first moment they meet, you can feel the sexual tension between them.

The story is filled with intrigue as Damon wanders around the castle.  I’ve always wanted to wander around a castle or old Victorian home with secret passages. When Damon and Addie figure out they are mates the sex is hot, and you want more of it. As with most stories you don’t want it to end, but knowing this novella is part of a series you will hear from these two again.

The story plot is well developed, as are the character. The whole story feels as it could be real. The editors did their jobs as I found no grammatical or punctuation errors, which always makes the story that much better.  The flow is perfections.

Conclusion:

Would I recommend this novella to others?  YES YES YES

Would I read other stories from this Author? I have read most of this author’s works as she is one of my favorite authors, and yes, I will read anything she publishes.

Is this novella priced correct? I feel all Vivan Arend’s books, whether full length or novellas are priced correctly.
