Property of Drex #1 (Death Chasers MC, #1)

Property of Drex #1 (Death Chasers MC, #1)
By CM Owens

SUMMARY
What’s the most selfless thing you’ve ever done? What price tag would you put on the ability to save the ones you love?

They say the worst decisions are made by the desperate or the fools.

I was desperate enough to make a foolish decision to save my family. The cost? Me.

They may be a motorcycle club, but in all honesty they’re really an elite unit of criminals who just happen to drive motorcycles. They’re a business. An organization. A fully functioning army…

What’ I’ve learned? They work in the gray area; life and death is real; and everyone wants everyone dead. Okay, so maybe that’s dramatic… No. No it’s not. It’s legit.

I prepared for the worst, fully anticipating hating my new life. Turns out, I finally found out where I belonged. Oh, and I discovered I’m a little twisted or crazy. Maybe both.

Drex Caine, the man without a conscience, didn’t ruin me the way I thought he would. Instead, he made me feel like I was living instead of just waiting to live. And I can never go back to the way things used to be.

REVIEW

What a freaking ride and it's not over yet! This was nonstop from the start and I couldn't put it down till I got to the end and now I have to pick up the next.

Eve has got herself neck deep in some serious doo-doo. She scarfices herself for her family and lands in it. At least Drex seems to have a heart. He is on hot sexy possessive guy...yum! At least he is on the decent side and didn't "play" with others while with her. They have tons of chemistry and he is freaking HOT! Sex in the both at the strip club....impressive!

There is tons a foot going on and it is all up in the air...someone isn't on the up and up and they all think she is a spy.

I am a tad upset that the guys at the end think what happened is her fault and I am wondering what is going to happen next.

Outstanding read it does leave everything up in the air at the end so you have to go onto the next book, if you aren't prepared for that don't read this one! But is you are ready for a nonstop action packed ride and to go continue the ride jump on and ride that motorcycle!

REVIEW
I really wanted to give this 5 stars I loved it I devoured this book until I was done and then I got to the end.

The end just ruined it for me. I felt that the end had too much drama, it seemed unnecessary and not needed. Just a plot twist that was there for no real reason to me except to hurt everyone. I felt there are too many unresolved issues and I think in the real world Gwen is so right about what is going to happen between them and that picture is in my mind and I can't reconcile with the end. To me the ending was a tad unrealistic.

I mean in the last 3 chapters Gwen found out her friend was hiding things and didn't rely on her and that Eli didn't real see reality for what it had become, he just wanted her no matter what pain she was going to go through...almost like he was selfish. A great departure from him. I felt their discussion at the airport and at the apartment didn't settle anything and felt it was glossed over. I felt her talk with her friend the same way. Gwen gets constantly hammered by those she loves and it is quite sad....

I am sooo disappointed it almost makes me upset. I lived and breathed this book and I was totally let down :(

I love this author and have read her for a long time...back when she wrote FF. She is so talented and I hate that I didn't love her ending. You all might not feel that way so please read it is a great story and wraps you up in its own little world till you are done.

I received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley

Secondhand Smoke (Dartmoor, #4)

Secondhand Smoke (Dartmoor, #4)
By Lauren Gilley

SUMMARY
Real life. It isn’t sexy. Isn’t pretty. There are no alpha bad boys. No easy outs. No Hollywood soundtrack. Real life hurts like hell and tastes like the grit between your teeth. And love…love always bears a hefty price. This isn’t a biker romance. This is love and war in the world of the Lean Dogs MC.

Aidan Teague was born into the Lean Dogs Motorcycle Club, a third generation outlaw with big biker boots to fill. A perpetual screw-up and playboy, he’s never taken life seriously. Until now.

If his accident a year ago was a wakeup call, then a jolting revelation from his latest lover is a life-altering shock. It won’t be simple, but it’s high time Aidan came into his own. With the club on the brink of a new war, beset by enemies old and new, Aidan must find the strength to lead, or risk everyone he loves.

Secondhand Smoke is the fourth full-length installment in the Dartmoor Series, and is NOT a standalone. This is a work of literary fiction, so readers should expect lyrical prose and an emphasis on character development and realism.

REVIEW
Again a tremendous story! This again has everything you can ask for: hot sex, drama, action, revenge, tears, love, growth, tragedy, motorcycles, leather, sacrifice, and love.

This again is not for the faint of heart. There is some stuff that will make you cry out for vengeance.

Aiden finally got his story. I had a had time trying to find what I liked about Aiden. He was so into himself and immediate gratification. I felt sorry for him and his relationship with his dad. Now there is someone who makes it very hard to like. I am glad Aiden stood on his own feet and made a stand for his friend. Aiden grew up a great deal throughout and you can feel his climb.

Sam what a beautiful person. I kinda felt she was pathetic at first and oh so desperate. She too also grew throughout and found herself and what was right for her. She supported her man no matter what.

We got to drop in on all the others too. I like the drop ins it keeps the strong stories alive and it's great the author doesn't let us forget them.

Tango...I hope and pray in his story he find happiness. Out of all of them he deserves it he has earned it :(

Great read can't wait for more

REVIEW

Great read again, not as spectacular as the last two, but it was decent in its own right.

Again lots of action and plot rolling around. This one got a tad twisty and the bad guys didn't seem as bad, but still interesting.

Walsh wasn't one of the guys that stuck out to me so I was surprised the story was about him. We had less darkness and trama this go around. Walsh's story is definitely tamer then the rest. He is really just an ordinary joe.

Emmie I liked, very strong character. She kinda succumbed to everything a tad to easy for me. She seemed so set in her thinking, but moved away from it. I liked she didn't take crap from Mags who is a tad overbearing at times.

The Shaman guy...humm....Tango has a story too.

Aiden is going to have his hands full next book and I hope he gets his head out of his fifth point of contact!

Great read!
