Chaotic War (Sons of War, #3)

Chaotic War (Sons of War, #3)
By Lia Davis

SUMMARY
While Zavier Sullivan may be the calm, reserved brother, his dragon is not. Especially since the beautiful, unorganized demi-goddess, Danielle Roberts—a.k.a Elle—moved into the mansion and into his life. She disturbs his OCD and makes him yearn for things he shouldn’t, but he can’t stay away from her. Nor can he deny her anything. Including his blood.

Ever since arriving at the home of the Sons of War, Elle has been plagued with dreams of the past and future. The visions are taking a toll, causing her debilitating headaches and ruining her sleep, but she doesn’t know what it all means. Her mother, Nyx, the Goddess of Night, has never bothered to show up and explain things to her. Until she arrives and unlocks Elle's powers, promptly transforming her into a half-daimon, half-goddess. Now, Zavier may be her only hope of holding onto her humanity, but can she bond with him after everything she’s seen? Especially in the midst of everything the Sons and their mates are going through.

REVIEW
Ok I have issues with this book!
1. Way too short and the characters weren't developed like the past two.
2. No steamy love scenes over in a paragraph
3. It does not say it is a novella.
4. They are going to charge as much as the second full fledge novel!
5. I know it is an ARC but lots of formatting issues!

I am severely disappointed! I loved the story line and couldn't wait to hear Elle's story. It was good, but again under developed and way too short. I like Zavier, but we learned nothing about him or what made him who he is on the inside like we learned about Ty and Markus.

The publisher has to be honest and say it is not a full novel and there is no way in heck they should be charging that much for it! I really want to love this one but couldn't. I will check out the next book though because I love the characters and plot. I hope this was just a fluke!

I received an ARC from the publisher and NetGalley for a honest review.

Ashes of War (Sons of War #2)

Ashes of War (Sons of War, #2)
By Lia Davis

SUMMARY
Ashlynn Blake, minor goddess of the hunt—lethal, beautiful, and able to connect with animals on a psychic level—is the perfect person to place judgment upon an accused dragon. But first she has to prove to the gods that Ty Sullivan is innocent of his crimes. If she fails, she’s doomed to lose her heart along with him forever.
Ty’s been beaten, scarred, and betrayed by females. He doesn’t trust them, can’t stand being around them for longer than he or his dragon needs to be. Yet, when he meets Ashlynn, his dragon is ready to mate, but the man believes she’s no different than the others.
The Fates have thrown them together, forcing secrets to be told and igniting a passion so fierce it may destroy both of them.

REVIEW
Better then the first one! I really like this one. Again if you are looking for your typical sex filled shifter book this is not it. There are some way hot scenes, but the story takes president over everything.

Nothing like family drama and scored siblings! Wow there is much hatred between the one brother Garrick and the others. Enough hatred to torture and blame for murder. Poor Ty he was tortured and lost a part of himself. All are afraid of him in their own way, never knowing when he will go off the chain. Ashlynn is a goddess daughter. Nothing like sorta good girl meets bad boy.

Each of them grow throughout the story and Ash learns to trust her gut. Ty is more then he seems and more drama enfolds as we find out more information. Gwen and Markus get a surprise and looks like Zavier is the next one to fall for his mate!

Great read enjoy! I am on to the next!

War's Passion (Sons of War, #1)

War's Passion (Sons of War, #1)
By Lia Davis

SUMMARY
After losing her parents in a brutal attack from a monster straight out of her nightmares, Gwendolyn Preston tries to pick up the shattered pieces of her life. Along with her best friend, she moves to a small fishing village on the coast of Maine to find a new life away from the nightmares that haunt her. Just when she believes her life could go back to normal, the deliciously dark and handsome Markus Sullivan disrupts her hopes to grieve in peace.

Markus drew the short straw when it came to being the liaison between his father, Ares—God of War—and his brothers. When he discovers that the earth bound demi-gods, known as the descendants, have banded together to start another rebellion against the gods, it becomes his number one priority to stop them.

That is until he meets Gwen, the granddaughter of Aphrodite, and the next target of the descendants. Together, their path is rife with passion and danger. It might take more than the son of War to win this battle…Gwen herself.

REVIEW
What a good read! Now if you think, you are going to get hot scenes every other chapter this is not the book for you. Now it has some but not as much as most shifter stories,

The characters are interesting and the storyline keeps you engaged. I like all that mythical God stuff and it is full of that. Gwen is wimpy at first, but she has been through a great deal, but she gets herself together and turns out to be a woman who knows what she wants. Markus is the leader of the dragons and he is typical alpha male, but nice.

There is lots of adventure and lots of side characters to write books about. All the dragon brothers sound interesting and I am sure will make good stories in the future.

Good read and good start to the series!

In This Life

Summary:

It starts out so simply. Anna runs away to Thailand, drags her best friend Dante with her and spends a few weeks away, taking on other people’s problems while getting away from her own. She meets the enigmatic Jude Grayson, and for as long as it’s clear to both of them that it ends when they leave, she thinks she’s got the perfect fling planned out.

Or does she?

Anna returns home to find that her life is no longer the way it once was, and that she can’t stop thinking about him. She learns through tragedy that nothing she’s ever believed in has turned out to be true. The worst part? The people she loved were keeping a secret from her. And that no matter what she does, no matter how hard she fights against it, every path she takes keeps leading her back to Jude.

This is a story about love, found in a faraway place by two very unlikely people. It is also a story about friendship and loyalty and fighting for what you have despite the illogical mystery of fate. With the struggle between morality and guilt, faith and acceptance, there comes a learning that even the best-laid plans are powerless against the alignment of the universe.

From the beaches of Thailand to the streets of New York, three friends, Anna, Dante, and Jude will learn the hard way that once providence steps in, there is nothing in the world that can change what is truly meant to be.

Review:
From the very first page, you’re hooked and can’t quite reading. You feel every single emotion; the author hit it out of the park, as you find yourself laughing, crying, and getting mad each time Anna does. That also goes for Dante, and Jude. They feel so real. The character development of the characters is stop on.

I didn’t run into any grammatical errors, which always makes a story harder to follow, the flow was great, as was the pacing of the storyline. You don’t want to book to end.

Remember My Beauties

Review copy provided via NetGallery in exchange for an honest review

Summary:

Imagine a hawk's view of the magnificent bluegrass pastures of Kentucky horse country. Circle around the remnants of a breeding farm, four beautiful horses grazing just beyond the paddock. Inside the ramshackle house, a family is falling apart.

Hack, the patriarch breeder and trainer, is aged and blind, and his wife, Louetta, is confined by rheumatoid arthritis. Their daughter, Jewel, struggles to care for them and the horses while dealing with her own home and job—not to mention her lackluster second husband, Eddie, and Carley, her drug-addicted daughter. Many days, Jewel is only sure she loves the horses. But she holds it all together. Until her brother, Cal, shows up again. Jewel already has reason to hate Cal, and when he meets up with Carley, he throws the family into crisis—and gives Jewel reason to pick up a gun.

Every family has heartbreaks, failures, a black sheep or two. And some families end in tatters. But some stumble on the secret of survival: if the leader breaks down, others step up and step in. In this lyrical novel, when the inept, the addict, and the ex-con join to weave the family story back together, either the barn will burn to the ground or something bigger than any of them will emerge, shining with hope. A novel about perception, Remember My Beauties grows large and wide as it reveals what may save us.

Review:

I couldn’t connect with any of the characters; some sentences didn’t make any sense and after reading them over a few times I’d just go on, but kept feeling like I’m missing something here.

Conclusion:

Would I recommend this book to others? NO

Would I read other books written by this Author? Unsure

It doesn't take long for Elliott's past as a dorky, bullied kid to resurface, and when it does, Shane can barely control his temper. At the same time, Greta's dad - the pack's alpha - makes his expectations for her perfectly clear, and they don't involve running a business or Greta staying independent.

Can Greta defy her pack's expectations and find love on her terms? Or will the pack and the past get in the way of this fated menage?

REVIEW

What the hell did I just read? I am totally serious. This started out like it was going to be a wonderful book. A ménage with an actual story line. Guy returns to hometown and pack with his new mate. He was a nerd and got beat up for it his own family think he is a wussy. He has a job where wolves don't usually hold and they don't know he is a wolf. Meet girl he knew before instant attraction. Then we find out his mate has anger issues and doesn't want to join a pack of wolves that believe men should have manly jobs and girls should be mated and pregnant. The girl they met is the alpha's daughter that he considers an old maid. She has an obsessive stalker who wants her to be his. Lots of issues going to go in a good direction, I am totally in reading like crazy. They have hot sex and her stalker lights her car on fire then BAM!

The story is over...OVER? Nothing is resolved everyone has issues and it was over?!?! No resolution to all these good topics nothing. I feel totally ripped off. ARGHHHHHHHHHHH. I just wasted about 1 1/2 hours of my life!!! Then I looked to see that maybe just maybe it is continued. Nope! I am totally done with this series...it started soon good

REVIEW
4.5 stars.
Again another super sweet hot romantic read from this author! I really loved the book! It had some missing pieces I would have like the author to have expanded on instead of just leaving up to us so I waver between 4 and 5 stars.

I wish she would have expanded on the conversation between Gee and her dad. I also was a tad disappointed with the time when he came to her house to go have some kinky loving outside with rope! The trip there was hot and steamy, but when we got to the location....nothing!!! The next chapter picked up the next day.

I liked the message of the book. You can get your kink on and that doesn't make you a slut or a whore, you just have to make sure you can trust the person you are getting your kink on with! That is a message all woman need to hear and not have to learn it the way Gee does.

Great read just like the first one. Enjoy it!

With their worlds unraveling and new threats at every turn will Sacha’s past destroy them? Or will she bring a God to his knees and lead them both into Divine Ecstasy.

SUMMARY

Another great book to the series. This one was more about the healing and loving that mates form. Then it exploded off the pages in the last 60 pages! I am on edge to see what is going to happen!

I fell for Hades in this story. I was afraid I couldn't bond with him since he seems so arrogant and unapologetic. But he literally changed in some ways right before your eyes. He became sincere and completely unselfish. Hades held back and waited till his mate was ready and then tried to help her overcome her past anyway he could. And darn was he an excellent lover....shower inducing! Wish he was real. Hades was everything a woman would want!

Well the end left everything hanging and you know bad things are on the way for our Guardians to face. Plus a baby is coming! Can't wait for more!
