GODDESS By Julie Anne Lindsey

Review copy provided via NetGallery in exchange for an honest review

Summary: Goddess

Two weeks ago, Callie Ingram was just another high-school senior with her sights on a swimming scholarship. Now, she's the resurrected leader of the Vikings, balancing her classes with learning mythological history—and sparring sessions with her gorgeous demigod boyfriend, Liam Hale.

When Zeus returns to collect the favor, she owes him, Callie is tasked with uniting the warring Viking clans and leading them into battle against Gaia's frost giants. If she fails, everything she risked her life for will be destroyed…and her best friend will die. But one teenage girl rallying all of the vengeful clans won't be easy. And things only get more complicated when a new prophecy puts her future with Liam at risk. Now, Callie will not only have to win the battle, but she'll have to take the fate of her heart into her own hands.

Review:

I received an email from NetGallery that this book might be something I should request to review, since it fits in with my profile. I’m still new to the site and was shocked when I got approved, but I’m very glad I did. I’ve never read the first book in the series Prophecy, yet I found this story very intriguing, at first I was upset when they started talking about the Greek Gods and Goddess, but soon found out how they intertwine with the Norse Gods.

I didn’t develop a connection to just one character within the story, but a connection with the story line, itself. It was like watching a movie or play, unfolding right before my eyes. You feel all the emotions from each of the characters, which I really enjoyed. The plot is a complex one, and you can see that Julie Anne took her time in developing it as she also did with each of the characters. I didn’t see any grammatical or a punctuation error, which always makes reading more enjoyable. This tells me the team as a whole worked hard at publishing a finished product. The over-all  flow of the book was spot on.

The characters were and are very believable and felt real; Julie Anne kept me reading as I needed to find out if Callie could reunite all the Vikings. I just loved the scene in the book where Callie tells Bia’s, she loves Liam and cannot be with Justin, but they can still be a team and lead the Vikings to a win over the frost giants.

Conclusion:

Would I recommend this book to others? YES

Was the book priced correctly? I got a free copy, but looking at what it will cost on Amazon when it’s released I feel it’s a little under value as it is a full-length novel and part of a series.

Would I read other books written by this author? YES, I’m going to buy and read the first book and most likely buy this one also and any other in this series. I most likely will check out her other books as well as she has a style, which flows nicely and makes it easy to enjoy as you read.

REVIEW:
I received  a copy from NetGalley for an honest review.

I do not really know how I feel about this book. I thought the plot was interesting and pulled you in, but then it got unrealistic and the characters fell flat. The tragedy she experienced that forced her to break down is realistic, but the then the plot just goes haywire. This concept that he needs someone to get his "stalker" off his back is so far fetched. All of a sudden she has to move in with him? Why would he offer such a fragile person to go against his proclaimed "grownup mean girl?" She is so mentally ounstable that she tried to kill herself and you want put all kinds of pressure on her to help yourself? Every time a character in a book wants mind blowing sex without attachments is just a liar. He just tells her to lay down and put out and she goes with it. He isn't even sexy about it. I found myself skipping over the many sex scenes, because I just didn't feel the chemistry between them. Dirty talk is usually sexy, this was just plan yuk! The rehab she goes through to improve is developed well and seems realistic, but then she is out and she wants to know more about him. Then he sucks her in and decides tell her oh well we are done. You can't even feel for him because his character has no feelings. She "disappears" for awhile and when it is described that he is looking for her, it comes across as " oh well, I want her back", but no urgency to find her. He is supposedly a billionaire, you would think he could find her in a snap.

Then there is some editing errors. In chapter six It says they returned to her apartment after going out to eat, but the when they started having sex it was stated they were at his place and went to his bedroom. Then after the night it said he left her place? That is some major context editing errors.

I can't give it two stars because there was some good story writing and it was not a four star with the unrealistic plot and context errors. I have to settle with three and I am not really sure I want to venture on to the second book.

REVIEW

Received a copy from NetGalley for an honest review.

Well this installment ramped up the action and the plot. Gods are on the loose and some sinister plan is in place and we are stuck with another cliffhanger! I like the new edition heroines, they were tough and could hold their own and had cool powers. The chemistry with the their guardians was hot and heavy. I really liked Tasha and her sister. Sander was a new guardian to find interest in and I want Drake to find happiness he deserves it. I would like the female guardians to be happy and loved too. This series is addictive and gets the reader so involved with the characters. It was another outstanding read! I am on the edge to see what happens next!

REVIEW

Received a copy from NetGalley for an honest review.

Oh that was soooo mean! A cliffhanger!!!! The first one of the series! This was one of the best books in the series! I loved Ileana! She was tough yet fragile. I also loved how she really didn't take any crap from Drake! I also liked that she did things on her terms and Jax was man enough to let her. As always the sex was hot and shower inducing! I am glad Brianne and Vane were part of the story again! Lots of twists in the plot and with Apllo and Katherine on the loose it is all up in the air! The second plot lines were interesting and great backstory on the supporting cast! So Drake found his mate?! Can't wait to see where that is going to go. I am in love with this series. And Setta is a fantastic writer! I can't wait to read the next book.

Tempting Ecstasy (The Gaurdians of the Realms #4)

Tempting Ecstasy (The Gaurdians of the Realms #4)
By Setta Jay

SUMMARY
librarian note: alternate cover edition for ASIN B00NZ8F392

*Erotic Paranormal Romance*

Conn had spent the millennia of his life fighting alongside his brethren as a Guardian of the Four Realms. He’d never allowed himself to imagine that he would be gifted a mate but her scent was inside him now. The intoxicating lure incited his wolf to track her and claim her in a sexual frenzy she could never deny. He refused to repeat the mistakes his brothers had made in their unions, instead he planned to fight the demands of his beast and tempt his female.

Dacia had spent the years of her life as a guardian of her family's secrets. Her days were consumed with helping her siblings search for the Immortals who had escaped the God Apollo’s brutal training camps with her parents thousands of years ago. They were the only hope of finding answers to questions about their lives. Questions her parents hadn’t resolved before their deaths.

Not in her wildest of dreams would Dacia have imagined the answers would instead find her. Or what form those answers would take. The breathtaking male who stepped out of the night and into her life was certainly not one of the hidden Immortals her parents had told of, he was so much more. Wielding both immense power and thrilling strength he aroused not only her body but the wolf hidden within.

REVIEW

Received a copy from NetGalley for an honest review

A good read! This was not the best book so far in the series in my opinion. The story had great plot and shower inducing sexiness. Thebplot was paced well; that is why I gave it four stars. I just couldn't get into Conn and Dacia like I did the other main characters in the past books of the series. I guess they weren't my cup of tea. I really just had no strong feelings toward them and just didn't rally behind them as others. Their special powers weren't explained as much and their combination just didn't seem to fit for me. There wasn't a second story going on this time and I kind of missed that. I wanted more action from Vane and Brianne, I loved that storyline. The villain seemed thwarted again so I am not sure where the story is going to go.

Overall good read worth it, but I liked the others before it better.

Bound with Honor

Review copy provided via NetGallery in exchange for an honest review

Summary: Bound with Honor

Lord Archibald Cambury, Marquess of Camburton, has never wanted for anything . . . except normalcy. Although he adores both of his loving mothers, and his vivacious twin sister with her two husbands, he wants a wife. One wife. Full stop. Is that so much to ask?
Miss Selina Ashby appears to be everything Archie has always wanted in a marchioness: demure, soft-spoken, and pretty, with a quick mind and delectable humor. Yes, she is a bit forward, but he chalks that up to youth. Yes, she has a very particular friend in Beatrix Farnsworth, but he chalks that up to loyalty. He is a lord; she is a lady; they are in love. And so they marry. That should be the end of it.
But when Archie discovers that his wife is as passionate with her particular friend Beatrix as he is with his particular friend Christopher, his world is shattered. He must decide if Selina’s love is big enough for both of them—and whether normalcy is truly more important than the love, he feels for both the man and the woman who have become so dear to him.

Review:

Hands down the best LGBTQIA I’ve every read.  I don’t read them on normal bases, but from time to time I’m that curious side of me just has to pick one up and read.  Most of them have not been worth the money I paid for them.  The story wasn’t there; it was all about the sex between all the different people, also the editing was pore.  You could take out the sex in this story and still have a great read. The sex was hot and very well written. Everything I want in a story was here, from the development of the story-line, the characters. All the emotions were spot on. I didn’t see any grammatical or punctuation errors, which drive me crazy.

Conclusion:

Would I recommend this story to others? Yes

Would I read more stories from that author? YES

This story is a Novella, which feels complete. I feel the Author could have made this into a full novel without losing any substance or comprising the flow of the story.

voyeurism and sexually explicit scenes.

REVIEW
Received a copy from NetGalley for an honest review.

Wow, another hot and steamy book! I think a cold shower is needed. I was shocked that we had a guardian that didn't want a mate. He boarder on being a really big jerk! At least Dorian got his act together! I loved Rain, she was everything a heroine could be: strong, independent,t and not afraid to tell her man a thing or two! She wasn't a flakey wishy washy heroine that seems to be populat these days, thank god! Again the author gives you everything to feed your fantasies with way hot M/F and a really hot M/F\M. The scenes are never boring and the dirty talk is just icing on the cake. The story behind the story was interesting too. I wonder what is going to happen to them. Brianne seems to want break it all up and stay alone. I am glad Vane is fighting back!

The series is staying at a wonderfully high level and just keeps sucking me in! I love the author's world and want to keep visiting!
